Alfred Merkh Obituary

Of Medford Lakes NJ died Saturday October 29 2005. He was 77.
Born in Camden Mr. Merkh was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S. Class of 1946. He has been a resident of Medford Lakes since 1940. Mr Merkh was an engraver with the American Bank Note Co. in Horsham PA. He was Past President of the Engravers Union Local 25. Mr. Merkh was a member of the Protestant Community Church. He served on the Board of Trustees and was a Sunday School Teacher. His hobbies included bowling yard work and playing cards.
Mr. Merkh is the beloved husband of 56 years of Doris J. (nee Schoeffling). He is the beloved father of John N. (Nancy) Merkh of Waco TX and the late Jane D. He is the beloved grandfather of Laura Beth and Andrew. He is the brother of Walter (Susanne) Merkh of Medford Lakes Raymond (Corinne) Merkh of Massachusetts and Charles (Helen) Merkh of Pennsauken. He is predeceased by his sisters Marie and Lydia and brothers George and Paul. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Mabel E. Cardenas and Dorothy A. Johnson-Wimmel and his brother-in-law Nelson L. (Gay) Schoeffling. He is also survived by many nieces nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday 11:30 AM at the Protestant Community Church Stokes Rd and Minnetonka Tr. Medford Lakes. Interment is in Odd Fellows Cemetery Medford. A viewing will be held Thursday evening 7-9 PM at the LECHNER FUNERAL HOME 24 N. Main St. Medford and Friday morning 10:30-11:30 at the church. Memorial contributions in Mr. Merkh's memory may be made to the church or the American Heart Assoc. 600 S. White Horse Pk Aud-ubon NJ 08106 or the American Cancer Society 1851 Cuth-bert Rd.
