Barbara Wood Obituary
West Deptford
Barbara Helen Wood, born June 27, 1927 to the late Harvey Nichol Wood and Helen Stonesifer Wood of Collingswood, died on Friday, January 23, 2015 in Dinwiddie, Virginia where she has resided for the past nine months to be near her niece & nephew, Theresa (Terry) & Harold Jackson. Prior to her move to Virginia, Barbara resided at Shepherd's Farm Senior Housing in West Deptford, New Jersey.
Born in Camden, New Jersey, Barbara was a graduate of Collingswood High School. She worked for & retired from the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company after many years of dedicated service.
Barbara is preceded in death by her longtime companion Paul Turkot; sisters Elizabeth Ann Byrd, Nancy L. Rainier, and Natalie J. Johnson; and brothers Lt. Col. John R. Wood, USAF (ret) & Jay H. Wood.
She was active in her community and a member of the Pioneers, a volunteer network. She will be fondly remembered by her many dear friends. Barbara was a much loved "Aunt" to many members from the Wood and Turkot families.
Internment will be held at 11am May 16th, 2015 at the Locustwood Memorial Park, 1500 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill, New Jersey and will be followed by a Celebration of Barbara's Life to be held at 1pm at The Riverwinds Restaurant, 1075 Riverwinds Dr. West Deptford, New Jersey.

Was so sorry to hear of Barbara's passing, know that is what she would have wanted.Miss her so much, just mentioned her last night at bowling.Sure miss her on our team. She was good. Had to go on line to find this, Please stop & see us when you are here in May, or may some of us at?tend Riverwinds if we cannot make it to Cherry Hill.Sadly
