In Loving Memory of Bertha “Poky” Beck

Bertha “Poky” Beck was more than a grandmother—she was a guiding light, a gentle hand, and a source of endless love. Her presence filled every room with warmth, and her heart had a way of making those around her feel seen, cherished, and deeply valued.

To me, she was not only my grandmother, but also my confidante, my safe place, and one of my greatest blessings. We shared a bond that words cannot fully capture—filled with laughter, long talks, and quiet moments that I will forever carry close to my heart.

Grandma Poky was also a woman of incredible talent. She played the piano like a female Liberace, with a passion and flair that could make the keys come alive. Music flowed through her fingers, filling the air with joy and beauty, and leaving everyone who listened in awe. Her gift was not just in the music she created, but in the way she shared it—with love, life, and laughter.

Above all, Grandma Poky was a God-fearing Christian who loved serving the Lord. Her faith guided her steps, and her devotion to God was evident in the way she lived—full of grace, compassion, and a heart for others.

She taught me what it means to love unconditionally and to give selflessly. Her wisdom, her kindness, and her faith have left an imprint that time can never erase. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her love continues to surround me, guiding me in the same gentle way she always did.

Grandma Poky will be missed more than words can say, but her spirit will live on in every memory, every story, every song, and every smile she left behind. I will always hold her close in my heart.

Rest in peace, my beautiful grandmother. Until we meet again.
