My family and I just learned of Joe's death. Our sincere condolences to his wife and children. Joe was a long-time friend and employer. He and Lee helped me get a start in working at home typing up tax returns while my children were small. When Joe Jr went into the business, they hired me to work in the office on 11th Street, where I have fond memories. I will never forget the kindness extended to me by the whole Stezzi family. Joe will always be remembered as being able to keep a lengthy conversation going while smoking his cigar!! He had a great sense of humor and a lot of fun to be around. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in peace, Joe.

As a son of Stephen Girard's, Joe was raised in Girard College in Phila. His life of industry, family and compassion for others made him popular with his classmates and everyone in the Girard family. His life was truly representative of our benefactor's vision.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time and in the days ahead.
Throughout the many years that I have worked and known Joe, there were many times that he allowed his warmth and kindness be shown to me and my family (and sometimes his humor, too). My thoughts (memories) of Joe will always be those. You always knew when he was around or would be returning from FL for "tax season". He did love people--his family and friends. May our wonderful memories of him never be forgotten.
Thank you Joe for giving me the opportunity to start my career with you (Joe Sr/Big Guy), Lee, and Joe (Joe Jr).
