Matthew Sobieski Obituary
Washington Twp. - on March 13, 2018. Age 95. Beloved husband of the late Stella (nee Chabalowski). Devoted father of Richard (Maryann), Daniel (Deana), and Matthew, III. Loving grandfather of 6. Dear great-grandfather of 11.
Matthew was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy in the Submarine Service. He worked at RCA and Campbell Soup as a Tool & Dye Maker.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday 10:15 - 11:45 am at SS. Peter and Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Rd., Turnersville, NJ 08012 (Washington Twp.). Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Matthew's memory may be made to SS. Peter & Paul RC Church at the above address. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com

To the Sobieski Family,
On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Matthew's passing. We grieve with you on the death of your loved one and our shipmate. The SUBVETS will have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Matthew, who earned his 'fish' when he qualified on USS LIONFISH SS-298 during World War II, will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin, a member of our Greatest Generation, and a great Patriot. BRAVO ZULU SHIPMATE!!

Sadly we've lost another man from "The Greatest Generation". I will always have a special place in my heart for Uncle Matt. He was humble, loving, kind, patient and a very gentle man.
