AGE: 78 • Shamong
Michael J. Perretta, 78, of Shamong, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Michael was a longtime resident of Shamong. Nothing was more important to him than his family and work.
Brother of the late Salvatore Perretta; he is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ellen (nee Kovalevich) Perretta; two sons, Michael J. Perretta (Lisa), and Joseph A. Perretta; his brother Joseph Perretta; his sister, Ann DeLeo (Dominic); two grandchildren, Michael III and Lauren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 7-9 PM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. The viewing will continue on Wednesday, March 29, from 10-11AM, at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM, at the church.
Interment will follow in Jesus, Bread of Life Cemetery, Mt. Laurel, NJ.
Contributions may be made in Michael's memory to St. Vincent dePaul Society, or Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle, NJ 08088.

I hope everyone in the family is doing well at this time, the anniversary of my cousin Michael´s passing. As time goes by the pain of losing a loved one softens but never goes away really. We just learn new ways to cope with the person missing from our story of life. The most honorable thing is reflecting upon the life of Michael, and letting those memories lead you by example. Do good deeds. Even just one small good deed ripples out to bigger things we can have no idea of! Pass along these `tools´ for life and the world will be a better place. Prayers to all.

So sorry to hear of Your Great Loss. I worked with Mike for many years in the Wilmington FHA office. He was my Boss for the last years of my career. We had many laughs over our time at HUD-FHA. RIP, Mike.

Dear Mrs. Perretta, Joe, Mike, Lisa, Michael, and Lauren,
There are no words to describe the huge loss to the family we all feel! He could not have been more loved and adored by all of us. We will miss our frequent bumping into each other while out and about running errands. He was a man who stood for so many wonderful things that are too many to even name. He will forever be missed and remembered as a hero on earth and now one in heaven. May you be surrounded by all the incredible wonderful memories to help get you through this incredibly tough time. Dear Ellen and family,
I am so sorry to hear of my cousin Michael leaving us so soon. I got to know him more in the past five years than in my whole life! He had a wonderful presence about him and when he smiled he lit up a room. I enjoyed his stories of when all the cousins were young and learned a lot about the family. He will be sorely missed but I am sure has a wonderful seat in Heaven. If you need anything, just call. Sending prayers and blessings.

Mike was truly one of a kind. I have many happy memories working with him at HUD. He was dedicated to his job and had a great sense of humor. I'll never forget the jokes he used to tell at industry meetings and retirements.
