Roosevelt Townsend Obituary

TOWNSEND, Roosevelt L. Age 81, of Atco, died on Friday, May 21, 2010. Born in Fork, SD, he had been a resident of Atco since 1972, relocating from Philadelphia. He was a retired career veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Marian E. Townsend of Atco; 4 sons, Roy Lee Townsend of VA, Jerry and Thomas Townsend, both of Phila. and Darnell Townsend of Hammonton; step-son, Gerald Carter of Philadelphia; 5 daughters, Ann Rice of NY, Terri Townsend of Phila., Alberta Nitz of CT, Nadine and Theresa Townsend, both of Phila.; 2 brothers, Levoid Townsend of Lumberton, NC and Hilbert Townsend of Phila.; 2 sisters, Genora Richardson of Hackensack and Ruth Bethea of Lumberton, NC; also several grandchildren; great grandchildren and other family members and friends. Services will be held 10:30am Thursday, May 27, 2010 at COVINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 755 White Horse Pike, Atco, where friends may call from 9:00am. Additional calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 26, from 4-6pm. Burial in Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown. Ministry of Comfort Entrusted to COVINGTON FUNERAL HOME, Atco.
