Dallas Fickas Jr., 79, of Evansville, IN, passed away January 31, 2018. He was born in Evansville on May 13, 1938, to the late Elizabeth (Baker) and Dallas Fickas, Sr.
Dallas retired from the Courier and Press after 28 years. After retirement he then worked at Robur Inc. and Kenny Kent Chevrolet. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran, a member of the River Cities Detachment 1090 Marine Corps League, and was proud to have provided tours on the LST 325. Dallas was also a lifetime NRA member. He enjoyed wood turning and taught wood turning classes.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Susan Fickas.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda S. Fickas; sons, Gregg A. Fickas (Cindy), Scott A. Fickas (Begene); and one grandson, Wade T. Fickas.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Military services will be conducted by the US Marine Corp League. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
