Edith Mildred Griggs McLimore, 91, went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2017.

Millie was born in Nicholasville, Ky., the daughter of Dewitt Gilbert and Edith Mildred Griggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gil Jr., David and Arthur; and one sister, Anne Peterman.

Her remaining sister, Rose Williams, lives in Evansville, Ind.

She had two children, Joseph Frederick (Amy) McLimore, of San Juan Cap, Calif., and Kathleen Dianne Leach-Flesher (Charles), of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Dr. Christopher), of Savannah, Ga., Brian (Katie) Polacheck, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Danielle McLimore, of Lake Forrest, Calif., Lauren (Scott) Nuccio, of Newport Beach, Calif., and Christian and Chloe McLimore, of San Juan Cap, Calif.; eight great grandchildren, Abby, Andrew, Audrey, Anna, Amelia, Miles, Elyse and Kailey; one niece, Amy Mooney; and three nephews, Keith Williams, Philip Griggs and Doug Peterman.

Millie graduated from Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., as a Registered Nurse. She was employed by St Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, Ind., Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago, The Ohio State University Hospital and Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Millie was heavily involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution and undertook many philanthropic activities with the DAR.

Mrs. McLimore was an active member of Lane Avenue Baptist Church in Columbus (now The Crossing Community Church in Hilliard). Her faith in Christ and love for her family were paramount in her life. She spent the last seven years at First Community Village where she served as leader of the Spiritual Life Committee. Millie enjoyed her many friends at First Community and all the wonderful activities, especially Rusty Singers.

A memorial service will be held at The Crossing Community Church in Hilliard at a future date. Graveside services will be conducted in Evansville, Ind.
