Eric Gourieux Obituary
Evansville - Eric Daniel Gourieux, age 32, of Evansville, IN, tragically passed away from injuries sustained in a snowboarding accident on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
Daniel was born November 9, 1988, in Evansville, IN, to Dr. Eric Gourieux and Kim (Wilkes) Gourieux. He graduated from Castle High School in 2007 and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Biology and two Master's Degrees in Business from the University of Southern Indiana. Daniel worked as a lab technician for CountryMark. He was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. Daniel was a brilliant and talented person who loved to learn. His smile was infectious, and he always gave the best hugs.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Holly (Gillette) Gourieux; parents; Eric and Kim Gourieux; sisters, Melissa Marshall (Corbin), Nicole Gourieux; brother, Evan Gourieux (Kayla); father- and mother-in-law, Raymond and Susan Gillette; sister-in-law, Hannah Taylor (Beau); and niece and nephews, Clara, Mason, and Waylon; grandmother, Bonita Wilkes; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Daniel is preceded in death by his grandparents, DeVerre and Patsy Gourieux; and grandfather, James Wilkes.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Crossroads Christian Church at 10800 Outer Lincoln Avenue, Newburgh with Pastor Paul Linge and Pastor Corbin Marshall officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time. Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Crossroads Christian Church.

Kim and family, I am so sad and sorry to read about the tragic death of Eric. Nothing hurts more than losing a child, but I learned after losing my Gary in 1994 that even though you’ll never get totally “over it”, it won’t always hurt this badly and there will come a day when the thought of Eric will bring many more smiles than tears.
