Frank Dennis Kramer, 90, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 12:20 P.M. February 10, 2019 at his residence. He was born August 6, 1928 in Haubstadt, Indiana to the late Edwin Henry and Louise (Mayer) Kramer. Frank married Frances E. (Whitman) Kramer on October 22, 1955 in Haubstadt. They were blessed with nearly 50 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on June 7, 2005.

Frank is survived by his sons, Keith Kramer and wife, Brenda of Sesser, Illinois and Phil Kramer and wife, Wanda of Mount Vernon, Illinois; special friend, Helen Tate of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Dennis Kramer and wife, Lindsey of Annapolis, Maryland, Alex Kramer of Sesser, Illinois, Brooke Mitchell and husband, Jonah of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Matt Kramer of Effingham, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Reese Mitchell and Claire Kramer; brother, Robert Kramer and wife, Betty of Haubstadt, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Melvin Kramer, Bernard Kramer, Edna Droste, Mary Borders, and Wilma Kramer.

Frank proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1946-1948 and the Air Force from 1950-1954. He worked for many years at Western Union where he did maintenance on radio towers. Frank was a long time member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, AmVets the American Legion and was a third degree member counsel number 2969 Knights of Columbus Mt. Vernon. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Frank was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. followed by a rosary service at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon with Deacon Mark Kabot officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Frank's honor to the American Cancer Society, Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, or SSM Health at Home Hospice.
