Gary Cartwright Obituary

Gary Cartwright
Evansville, IN
Gary Cartwright, 53, of Evansville, passed away at 11:32 am, Friday, March 30, 2012 at his home in Evansville.
Gary was born on August 23, 1958 to Jack and Lavell Cartwright. He was a strong willed man whose joy was serving others. His heart was genuine and kind. Gary loved supporting his children and attending all of their sporting events. He believed in them more than they believed in themselves. His humor and free spirit were truly a blessing this world. Gary was loved deeply and will be missed.
He is survived by daughter, Brittnie Cartwright and son, Logan Cartwright; mother, Lavell (Beliles) Cartwright; brother, Larry Cartwright (Shelia); the mother of his children, Sandra Cartwright and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Cartwright.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held Sunday, April 15th, 2012 at 4 pm at 1725 Riverview Court, Evansville.
Boone Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville is handling arrangements.

Gary has been in my life since day one. I have loved and admired him my entire life. One of the things that I admired most about him was that he treated everyone the same, it didn't matter who they were or where they were at. Gary also had a big heart. He would do things for people and never asked for anything in return. He was more than a cousin to me, he was like a brother. He will be truely missed by his family and friends. I love you Gary. Lavell, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Gary was a very giving person and helped all those who were in need.....but one of the most cherish and unselfish gifts that he gave besides his friendship, was the sharing of his parents and family to Mike as they were growing up. Mike isn't one much on expression of words, but words cannot express what Gary has meant to him over the years. He will be missed greatly and his memory we will always carry with us. Rest in Peace, Gary.

I have thought about this alot. How to express and sum up the greatness of Gary in as few a words as possible. It comes down to a question: Has anyone known anyone in their lifetime that left more good memories and no bad memories than Gary?
I miss him now, will miss him in the future...we will all miss him. But each of our lives is better because of him. So let's celebrate him, that's what he wanted.

I have known Gary since grade school. We were in a wreck in high school. We were on some ball teams together. We have always been friends. I just saw him several months ago at Club Royale and we had a drink together. I am sad to hear of his passing. I was honored to be his friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
