He was a 1959 graduate of Old Forge High School in New York. He served in the Air Force. A carpenter and construction worker, he was employed for 44 years with United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. After his retirement he made beautiful heirloom furniture for his family. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Avis (Hicks) Patrick of Tell City; mother, Mary Patrick of Tennyson; sons, Tom Patrick and wife, Kim, Gary Michael Patrick and wife, Tammy, and William Patrick and wife, Jennifer, all of Tell City; daughters, Elizabeth Small and husband, Ben, of Hatfield; Meredith Curtis and husband, John, of Boonville and Jessica Moore of Tell City; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Paul Patrick of Tennyson and Larry Patrick of Belton, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Patrick, and sisters, Mary Blythe and Gail Patrick.
He is loved and will be remembered by every stray cat that showed up hungry and scared, all the birds and families of squirrels that lived in his tree and Ralph the mouse who moved in during his last days and provided him with hours of enjoyment.
A Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Bishop-Elect Paul Etienne will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home today from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
