Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Brown

Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Brown, 80, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Jerry was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 28, 1938 to the late Burrell B.and Mary Elizabeth (Wheeldon) Brown. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1956 and was a mechanical arts student. Jerry owned Allied Structural Drafting, retiring in 2009 after 36 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, and gardening, okra and tomatoes being his favorites. Jerry's greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pamela Jean (Rigsby) Brown of Evansville, IN; his daughter, Lisa L. Johnson (Jeffery) of Lafayette, IN; and his son, Kenneth W. Brown (Lynda Price) of Evansville, IN; a brother, Lawrence Brown of Hampton, VA; granddaughter, Brandi Rice (Matt); great-granddaughter, Brooklynne Rice; brother-in-law, Michael Rigsby; niece, Linda Dickerson; and by his nephews, Steven and Michael Brown.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Carol Brown; and by his niece, Cheryl Brown.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711. Entombment will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until service time on Thursday at Browning Funeral Home.
