Gerald Lee "Jerry" Duckworth, age 67, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015.
Jerry was born July 18, 1948 in Evansville to the late Joseph Allyn Duckworth and Mildred Mary (Bradley) Bernard. He was a 1966 graduate of FJ Reitz High School and served in the United States Army from June of 1968 to February of 1971. Jerry worked for over 30 years at Ferro Plastics Corporation and was later employed at Matrixx Group and eventually retired from Berry Plastics. Not being able to sit idle, Jerry had most recently worked at Behind the Wheel Driving Academy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; loved to travel and enjoyed watching college football and basketball. Most of all though, Jerry loved his family.
Surviving Jerry are his wife of 31 years, Patricia (Graves) Duckworth; two daughters and their husbands, Sarah and David Jones of Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC and Helen and Marc Schnarr of Evansville; one son, Jeffrey Neisz of Bellevue, WA; ten grandchildren, Taylor Lockhart, Mason, Mitchell and Carter Schnarr, Ella and Tegan Neisz and Chance, Sean, Kennedy and Miles Jones and great grandchildren, Hayden Lee Simmons and soon to be, Hudson Levi Simmons. Also surviving Jerry are a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Derek Faughn; sister, Robin Duckworth; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Traci Duckworth; his father-in-law, Clyde Graves and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Duckworth and mother-in-law, Ella Marie Graves.
Funeral services for Jerry will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Bobby Pell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northwoods Church, 9920 N. Green River Road, Evansville, IN 47725.

Started working for Jerry in 1977 at Complas he was second shift supervisor, when the blizzard hit Jerry took anyone willing to ride in the back of his Chevy 4*4 home. That was the type of guy he was looked out for the other person. Will be sorely missed but not forgotten.
