Herbert Lee "Herbie" Baldwin, Jr., age 66, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home on the Wabash River.
Herbie loved the Wabash and there was no place he would rather be. He had worked as a heating and air conditioning warehouse manager and had also owned and operated his own butcher shop. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War and member of the American Legion in Mt. Vernon. He was also a member of the Riverbend Association, the Moose Lodge in Mt. Vernon and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving Herbie are his best friend and companion of 10 years, Lisa Benton; his daughter, Shanna (Robert) Darr and son, Ryder (Mary) Baldwin, both of Evansville; grandchildren, Drake Baldwin, Ravyn and Montana Darr; brother, Larry (Phylis) Baldwin of Louisville, TN; uncle and aunt, Robert and Genevieve Schwindel of Evansville and many special friends.
Herbie was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lee and Ann Cecilia (Schwindel) Baldwin, Sr.
Friends may gather with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, where there will be a rememberance of Herbie's life held at 6:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Evansville, IN 47712 to help defray funeral expenses.

Dear Loved Ones of Herbie, I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I feel I am repeating myself but it is so true I don't think I ever saw Herbie without a smile on his face and a funny story to tell. I hadn't seen Herbie in several years but if I would of he would not of been a stranger!

To all those I didn't get a chance to meet and those who I met for the first time and then my buddies, I just want to say that Herbie was blessed with good family and good friends. Last night was truly a celebration of life. I am thankful to have been a part of the service. God bless all of you.
