i grew up in chandler and attended castle watching dave ransom rule the basketball court. elvis was my hero in those days but i remember thinking if david could sing, elvis would be in trouble. if you looked up the word "cool" in websters in those days, it would have simply said, 'dave ransom'. dave was unlike anyone i had ever known in my youth; me and my buddies secretly wanted to be like him in just about every way. i regret not having ever contacted david after high school and letting him know he was a role model for me in my high school years. my condolences go out to his family during this difficult time. it is my sincere prayer that others like myself who were touched by the short life of david ransom will memorialize his remarkable life through these pages. dave made a difference in his journey through this world. i am certain that today, God is on the sidelines, watching with a big smile, as dave ransom and pete maravich are going one on one playing the greatest basketball match Heaven has ever seen. david was one of a kind. he will be missed by all who knew him...

To the Ransom Family:
So sorry to hear about David. My brother Kent drives a bus, and saw David all of the time. They used to play baseball together when growing up in Newburgh. I have known David my whole life, when we were younger and all through school. He was a great friendly guy, just like his Daddy. His mother was always a jewel too. My mother, known around Newburgh as Betty Boop read the obituary to me this morning. She was glad to hear that Kathleen was still here.We will be praying for your family.
God Bless you all.

and Mark Pinnell (also a friend of David's from school).

Michelle, I knew both your parents and am so sorry for your loss. When we went to Castle High your father was one of the best looking guys in school and was a star ball player.
You and your children will be in my prayers.
