He was a Korean War Army veteran; a member of Hyland Baptist Church; and a retired telephone repairman with BellSouth.
Surviving are his daughters, Sara Van Vactor and Susan Logsdon; sisters, Betty Ann Abner, Helen Brown and Mary Montel Smith; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home; burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. Visitation is 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and until service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hyland Baptist Church.
