Families are like a quilt. Through the years they get old and holes are worn into the fabric. With care and love you weave the fabric back together with every stroke of the needle. The stitches might not be perfect but the effort is great. Thank you dad for your stitches and for completing my quilt. Until we see each other again.

I remember Julius from Dexter school. I am in the picture from the 8th grade(the tallest guy in the back row). Sounds like Julius had a full life.

Grandpa, my time with you was precious to me and will never be forgotten. I will miss the meals we shared together where you laughed so hard we all had to cover our plates. You will remain forever in my heart and we will walk together again one day. I love you and send my love for Peyton and Taylor.

I remember being around Julius as I was growing up. What I remember is his great smile, his laugh, and his love for golf. He took a lot of pride in providing for his family and was a hard worker. He decorated some of the most beautiful Christmas trees ever--tinsel one by one on each limb.
My condolences to Tracy and family, Terrill and family, and those who spent time with him and took care of him as he grew older and got sick.

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.
