Kelsey Hipp Obituary

Kelsey Anna Hipp

Evansville, IN

Kelsey Anna Hipp, age 27, of Evansville, IN died in an automobile accident on Saturday April 27, 2019. Kelsey was traveling with her fiancé to visit family in Florida, and to enjoy the beaches while on break from school. The accident occurred when another vehicle crossed the highway center-line into their path.

Kelsey lived in and near Evansville many years after moving there with her family from Carrollton, TX. Kelsey was a 2010 graduate of North High School, earning a 4.0 GPA. She was also a 2014 graduate of the University of Evansville, receiving both a BS and MS in Health Services Administration. Kelsey was then the first UE student accepted into their inaugural Physicians Assistant program, and had recently completed all requirements for this third UE degree.

Kelsey was kind, sensitive, and had an incredible work/life ethic. She enjoyed nature, hiking, camping, beaches, and many water sports. She cared for the environment, recycled, and had a "nothing wasted" mantra that she shared with others. She also had a great love of animals. Over the years, she rescued and cared for several cats, dogs, snakes, and chameleons.

Kelsey is survived by her father Randall of Indiana, her mother Patricia of Texas, her brother Rockford of Indiana, her sister Tracy of Texas, and her sister Julie of Florida. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Eugene "Scotty" & Rita Florianna Hipp of Haubstadt, IN and Kenneth Lee & Barbara Ann Porter of Mesquite, TX.

A memorial mass was held at St James Church in Haubstadt for family and friends. A celebration of life was held at Neu Chapel on the UE campus for students, family, and friends. UE also planted and dedicated an oak tree to Kelsey on their main oval. Other services held were private.

The Hipp family has established a UE memorial fund in Kelsey's honor. The fund will benefit her beloved UE and its PA program/students for many years. Memorial contributions would be appreciated.

Ryan and Kelsey lived down the street from my family and I. We met after they moved in while walking our dog. Ryan would always have a project Jeep he would be working on, Kelsey would be in the yard with her dogs and frequently she would be gardening.
They were a beautiful young couple who will be missed by all.
