Larry James Flaherty, 76, of Newburgh, IN passed away at 3:55 am, Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Larry was born October 24, 1938 in Irvington, Kentucky the son of the late James "Pat" and Thelma Mae (Adkisson) Flaherty. He was a devout member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Larry came to Evansville to be a service manager at Whayne Supply Company and continued his career as field service technician for Black Equipment Company until his retirement. Larry was a Hall of Fame member of the GEUSBCA, a board member and an avid bowler.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Regina "Bunny" (Booth) Flaherty; children, James Flaherty (Terri) and Kathy Layman (Michael), of Newburgh, Dorothy Feistel (Greg) and Marcy Brookes (Craig), of Evansville and Ricky Flaherty (Kelly) of Oakland City, IN; siblings, Linda Wright, Vanessa Miller (Glen), Sandy Whitenack and Scott Risinger (Sharon), of Louisville, KY, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Verlin Flaherty.
Mass will be held in celebration of Larry's life at 10 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Newburgh with Father Tom Kessler officiating. Burial will be Private.
Friends may call from 2 pm until 8 pm, Monday, July 20, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville.
