Elizabeth "Betty" F. Flaherty

Elizabeth "Betty" (O'Keefe) Flaherty of South Boston passed away on March 5, 2026. Daughter of the late Timothy O'Keefe and Eleanor "Berg" O'Keefe. Proud mother of the late Beverly Rosati and her husband Anthony, Richard McArthur, Kathleen Flaherty and her late husband William Rizzitano, Thomas Flaherty, Karen Flaherty and her partner Philip Donaldson, Bettyanne Lawrence and her husband Marc. Sister of the late Timothy O'Keefe and his wife Helen, Francis O'Keefe and his late wife Penny, Lawrence O'Keefe and his wife Kathy. The best nana to 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren who meant the world to her. She loved nothing more in life than being a nana.

Betty worked as a family advocate (social worker) for ABCD in South Boston for 37 years and in those years, she helped endless amounts of families in the community.

She was a "true Southie legend." She went onto become the director of The West Broadway Task Force which she loved. She also was a lunch mother The Boston Renaissance School after retiring and sat on many other boards in the community to make South Boston a better place. She loved her community and they loved her. Visitation in the O'Brien Funeral Home 146 Dorchester St South Boston on March 11th from 9-11am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Peter Church 75 Flaherty Way South Boston at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Wayland. In lieu of flowers donations can me make to St. Patrick's Manor 863 Central St. Framingham, MA 01701
