Matthew Johnson Obituary
Boonville, Ind.
Matthew Johnson, 43, graduated to eternity on Sunday, November 10, 2013. Matthew lived boldly for Jesus Christ, and it was his passion to tell others about Christ.
Matthew was the health inspector for the Warrick County Health Department, where he treasured the opportunity to build relationships with restaurant owners and managers throughout the county. He knew no stranger and showed himself friendly to everyone he met.
Matthew had a heart for ministry and left a powerful, positive impact on countless children and adults. In his health, he enjoyed an active lifestyle with his family - hiking, running, taking long walks, splitting wood, and rough-housing with his kids.
Matthew attended Encounter Church (Evansville), whom the family would like to thank for their love and support during these final precious months of Matt's life.
They would also like to thank Living Hope Community Church (Boonville) for their continued love and blessings. And to Dr. Ahmed, Brook, and the Chancellor Center; Dr. Judy, Dr. Siami, and the nurses and PCAs at Deaconess Gateway - thank you tremendously for your exquisite care.
He is survived by his wife and helpmate, Alyssa; two beloved children, Meagan and Ty; parents, Margaret "Maggie" and Al Spallino and Larry and Deanne Johnson; brothers Daniel (Paulette) Johnson, Jason (You Kyoung) Johnson, and Jason Lake; and three nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by his closest friend and brother in Christ, Eric "T-boy" Franz; parents-in-law who cherished him, Duane and Kimberly Davis; and a brother-in-law, Shaun Davis.
Funeral service 2pm Wed. Nov. 13 at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday 2-8pm and Wed. 10am until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Eric Franz will officiate the service.

I am so sorry to learn of Matt's recent death. He was a precious,light-filled young man in my English class at Ganus H.S. and he obviously went on to live an exemplary life as a Christian husband and father. I will keep his family in my prayers as they mourn their great loss.

So sorry to hear of Matt's passing. I knew Matt while he was at IBC. He played John the disciple in our passion play. He was perfect for the part. It's so good to know that the power, presence, and reality of Jesus Christ remained in his life and that he is embraced by a love that will not let him go.

Matt was such an inspiration to everyone who knew him. While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil. My prayers go up for the entire family and his extended family at LHCC

What a wonderful man!!! I owned a café in town and Matt helped me so much. He was such a joy...heaven is having a party for their newest resident! You all have my deepest sympathy!

I remember Matt when I first started attending Living Hope and he was leading the singing. He was a very kind man and a man of the Lord. The family and Aaron have my condolences.
