Troy Smith Obituary

Troy DeWayne Smith

Evansville - Troy DeWayne Smith born July 23, 1969. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1987. Troy was enrolled at ITT and studied mechanical engineering. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized by the former Pastor J.R. Trask of Nazarene Baptist Church. At a young age, he served on the Junior Usher Board and sung in the Junior choir.

He was employed at Tri-State Resource Recovery and had also worked for Chester Construction Co. Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deacon Henry and Sammie Smith who raised him as a child.

Everyone who knew Troy knew that he was a kind and mild-mannered person who would help anyone if he could. He truly loved his family.

Troy is survived by his loving mother, Joyce Bush, and stepfather John Bush of Newburgh, IN; a sister Tamera Fields and brother TaRon Fields of Evansville, IN. An aunt Henri Mae Parker. Ann Arbor MI. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and many friends. A very special friend, Donna Fox. Also, Brenda Calhoun, whom he called "Auntie" was like a surrogate mother to him. Troy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

Visitation will be Tuesday June 2, 2020 from 9 to 11am with funeral to follow at 11:00 at Osborne Funeral Home.
