Rev. Capps is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Morehead Capps; sons, Wesley (Jean) Capps of Owensboro and Sheldon (Amy) Capps of Finchville, Ky.; daughters, Rhonda (Bobby) Hawkins of Philpot and Mildred (Pete) Beck of Evansville; grandchildren, Jonathon and Benjamin Capps of Owensboro, Braden Capps of Finchville, Dawn (Lee) Spencer of Newburgh, Brian (Kim) Hickey and Heather Hickey of Owensboro and Tawne Bucherl of Evansville; great-grandchildren, Logan and Morgan Hickey, Kyle Mayberry, and Dylan Kimbley, all of Owensboro, and Kalee, Emilee, Little Lee, and Weslee Spencer of Newburgh; a brother, E.G. Capps of Greenville; and sisters, Betty Pannell of Hartford, Jane Bolton of Island, and Anzie Kennedy of Decatur, Ill.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Bratcher officiating followed by burial in Shavers Chapel Cemetery in Bremen, Ky., with military honors rendered by the McLean County VFW Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Dear Capps Family, I was so sorry to hear of Brother Capps passing. He was a good man and a good minister. My family knew him from Covert Ave. Church, he performed my daughters wedding and my mothers funeral. We will miss him. You have our deepest sympathy.
