William F. Jochim, 92 of Mariah Hill passed away Wednesday at Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand. William was born January 7, 1921 in Mariah Hill to John & Frances (Hollander) Jochim. He married Roberta Handschiegl on October 21,1950. William retired from Traylor Brothers in Evansville. He was a member of Mary Help Of Christians Parish. He managed the Mariah Hill Yankees baseball team for 20 years. He was an avid New York Yankees & Boston Red Sox fan. He followed many Heritage Hills sporting events. William is survived by his wife Roberta (Handschiegl) Jochim, 1 daughter, Sandy Dilger of Dale, 2 sons, Stan Jochim and his wife LeAnn, and Sam Jochim both of Mariah Hill. 5 grandchildren & 1 step-grandchild, 6 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services 10:00 AM CDT Saturday in Mary Help Of Christians Church, Mariah Hill. Friends may call from 3 to 8:00 PM CDT Friday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand and after 9:00 AM CDT Saturday at Mary Help Of Christians Church. Burial with military graveside services will follow in the church cemetery. Santa Claus American Legion will conduct graveside services. Online condolences may be made at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
