Gale Fletcher Obituary
Gale Ann Fletcher (née Forrest), passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. She was reunited in Heaven with her beloved twin sister, father, mother, and her cherished dog, Bella, who she is no doubt feeding a donut to right now.
Gale's life was marked by her dedication to the people and causes she cared most about. As a teenager, she worked to earn the money to purchase the "hot cars" she was often seen cruising in: her beloved 1965 red Mustang and 1967 Chevelle Super Sport. While she would later settle into a more "old lady driving" lifestyle, it was driving one of those flashy cars which sparked the introduction to her lifelong partner, Craig, at the Frisch's Drive-In in September 1969, a moment she cherished for many years.
She was married on June 20, 1970, to Craig, with whom she shared a beautiful life, raising children Matthew, Aimee, Tyler, and Corey, and creating a family full of love. Gale was a devoted mother, and later, a doting grandmother to Amelia, and her family meant the world to her. This love of family extended to the canines in her life. Li'l Sebastian, Chloe Belle, Yoder Blake, Riley Grace, Bailey, Addie, Bailey, and Sammy were always treated like family.
Her professional journey was equally inspiring. Gale taught for 2 years at Ridgedale, and later for 30 years at Buckeye Valley, beginning at just 19 years old with a cadet certificate. Her passion for education and her love for her students were evident throughout her career, and her impact will be remembered by all who had the privilege of learning from her.
Gale was also known for her many interests and passions. She had a sharp mind, enjoying bingo, traveling, completing crossword puzzles, and keeping up with her favorite true crime shows and cop dramas, especially if they featured handsome leads. Her love for the Cleveland Guardians was unmatched, and while cheering on the team, she would often pick out potential future husbands for Aimee, much to the amusement of all. Her love for Buckeye football and basketball was also unwavering. She was renowned for her ability to bake the most delicious buckeyes and cookies-out-baking Cheryl's and Anthony Thomas any day.
Gale was predeceased by her twin sister Dale Anna, mother Mary, and father Lester. She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly-her husband, children, grandchild, sisters Mary Lynn and Janet, brother Larry, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and daughter-in-law, Sarah. She also leaves behind lifelong friends Valerie Gerlach and Donna Dewitt, who were by her side through thick and thin.
Her family will greet friends from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Gunder/Hall Chapel, 347 W. Center St., Marion. Services honoring her life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, at the Peace Community United Church of Christ, 4061 Columbus-Sandusky Rd S (SR 98), Marion, with Rev. Joel Fetter officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
