John P Johnson

John Paul Johnson, 75, of Galion passed away, Thursday morning April 24, 2025 following a brief illness. The son of Paul and Marie (Roelle) Johnson, John was born November 21, 1949 in Galion and graduated from Galion High School. Hardworking, John began his career in the carpet laying industry while working alongside his uncle. Not long after, he began his own business, John's Carpet Service. For over 5 decades, John's work was requested by thousands of Galion residents and those in the surrounding area. For many years he was proud to work long side his son Chad. John retired just a few years ago. He was a lifetime member, Legionnaire and Pilgrim of the Galion Moose Lodge #303. He had worked on the Ohio Moose Association State Board and the Galion Ritual Team. He was also a life member/social member of the Galion VFW #4329. He enjoyed fishing. John will be remembered as a dedicated and hard worker and someone who was willing to offer a helping hand. He is survived by his son Chad Johnson of Galion; siblings Jeanne (Tim) Neff of Galion, Pauline Fletcher of Tempe, AZ, and David (Rhonda) Johnson of Galion; nephew Austin Johnson and niece Amy (Chris) Tyree; 1 uncle and 3 aunts. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Marie Johnson; brother-in-law Steve Fletcher; nephew Andrew McCrackin; and uncle Richard Roelle. Visitation will be Monday, April 28, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Galion VFW #4329.
