Lawrence Moore Obituary
Lawrence Edward "Edd" Moore, 79, of Marion, OH, went to be to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Marion General Hospital. Edd was born on September 21, 1945, in Wayland, KY, to Tom and Virgie (Mosley) Moore. He married Mary Sue Wooten on August 16, 1968.
Edd was a graduate of Harding High School in Marion, OH. After high school Edd went into the Army where he served for 4 years with an honorable discharge. Edd also graduated from The Ohio State University in Marion. Edd served the Lord for 50 years, by preaching, singing with his family and later became a pastor of Gebhardt Enterprise Baptist Church. It did not matter where he was or who he was with, you would always find him talking about Jesus and his family. Especially, his 2 grandkids. You could find him tracing his genealogy, going to his kids' games and music concerts. Then later in life, his grandkids' events. Two of his favorite things were watching old recordings of Wyatt Earp, Super Man, and of course the game show channel. Besides serving God, his family was his main focus. It didn't matter how sick he got you could still find him praying for everyone else.
Edd is survived by his children, Stacia Carroll, of Green Camp, OH, Scott (Rachel) Moore, of Upper Sandusky, OH, Stephanie (Eric) Moore, of Orleans, Vermont, two grandchildren; Elijah Carroll, of Morral, OH, and Hannah Carroll, of Green Camp, OH, brothers; Gene Moore, of Marion, OH and Brewie Moore, of Kenton, OH, two sisters, Charlotte (Moore) Bowling, of Marion, OH, and Sharon (Dave) Davis, of Westland, MI.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Virgie Moore, the love of his life, Mary Sue (Wooten) Moore, one brother, Charles Moore, two sisters; Shirley (Moore) Prater and Peggy Sue Moore, and an infant son at miscarriage.
Visitations will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at the Boyd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 10 a.m. at the White Oaks Road Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating the services will be Rev. Kevin McCoy and Rev. Jim McIntyre. Burial will follow at the Grand Prairie Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Open Door of Upper Sandusky, OH. They Boyd Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
