Timothy Gordon Bucklew, age 81 of Marion, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024.
Tim was born December 2, 1943 in Marion, the son of Leroy and Fanny Alice (Silvias) Bucklew. He was a graduate of Delaware Hayes High School. On December 21, 1967 he was united in marriage to Teresa Olga Robles.
Tim was a proud patriot and served his country faithfully for 20 years in the United States Army, United State Navy and the National Guard. Throughout his career he was stationed in numerous states and countries around the world. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, he pursued a career as a truck driver until his retirement.
During his time living in California, Tim served as a volunteer firefighter and also volunteered at the St. Anthony Parish. While living in Marion, he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church serving as an usher for many years, volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and was a Knights of Columbus. He was a proud member of the Marion County United Veterans Council rendering military honors to his fellow comrades who preceded in death.
Tim enjoyed many hobbies over the years including hunting, collecting model cars & trucks and working puzzles and word searches. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed cheering the Buckeyes onto victory. Above all it was family that Tim delighted in the most and cherished every moment he shared with them.
He is survived by his devoted wife Teresa O. Bucklew; children: Sandra (Jimmy Plunket) Benintende, Rebecca (Rick James) Rodriguez, Yvette (Steve) Edwards, and Maria (Jim) Bibler; grandchildren: Dustin Comstock, Alexis Edwards, Nicholas Benintende, Audriaunna (Leo Schirtzinger) Edwards, Natalia (EJ) Mitsui, Marco Rodriguez, Jenna (Drew) Trotter and Buddy Bibler; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Tom House and Lilly Lester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents; son, Oscar Rodriguez; grandchildren: Arelle Edwards and Jacob Bibler; 2 great grandchildren; and 11 siblings.
Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2024 at Snyder Funeral Home, GUNDER/HALL Chapel, 347 West Center St. Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 251 North Main St., Marion at 10AM.
