Mark McClard Obituary
went home to be with Jesus on September 19, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on April 8, 1946, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Gene and Dorothy McClard, Mark grew up with a love of learning and faith that guided his entire life. He graduated from Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon College. While a student there, he married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn - a marriage that would last a beautiful 60 years. Mark later continued his studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
A devoted servant of God, Mark faithfully pastored numerous churches throughout his ministry, serving congregations in Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and even Scotland. Beyond the pulpit, he shared his gift for teaching as an American History and English teacher at Southside Elementary and Richbourg Middle School.
Mark lived a life deeply rooted in faith, devoted to Christ, and guided by the teachings of the Holy Bible. He is now reunited in Heaven with his parents and his son, Michael.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Evelyn; his sisters, Julie and Vicky; his son, Daniel (Heather); his grandchildren, Dylan, Ashley (SeongYun), Reagan, Connor, Kirk, and Thomas (Tierra); and his great-granddaughter, Rosabelle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church on November 2nd, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the service following at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. McClard was my American History teacher at Richbourg. He was a funny guy and a fantastic teacher. He never shied away from sharing his faith. I always had respect for him, but it wasn't till after I received the gift of salvation thru Christ that my respect and love for this man is on the highest level. A guy like this I could never forget. While I'm sad he is no longer here with us, the most comforting thing is that he is no longer suffering but is undoubtedly in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. By the grace of God, I will one day see him again after my time on this earth is complete. My prayers and condolences are with his family.

I met Mark only once but his dear wife was a long time friend and probably instrumental in planting the seed of loving the Lord for me. My prayers for her and the family.

Mark McClard was a good man and would preach or pastor big or small churches. He was friendly and could always bring a smile. He married over his head with a beautiful wife and family. My heart and condolences go out to his family, especially Evelyn.
