Patricia Helen McClard left this world for a higher place on Sept 29, 2025.

Helen was born in 1936 to Norman and Era Totten in Morrilton, Arkansas. She had one sibling, Norman Totten, Jr.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Alan Rountree and Robert Rountree, her beloved husband, Bob McClard and grandsons Shane Moore and Kyle Whisenant.

She is survived by grandsons Clay Rountree (Priscilla) and Sean Rountree, as well as her second children, Debbie Moore (Danny), Robin Phelan (Tim), Sandy Orr (Randy), Wayne McClard (Cheryl) and Penny McClard. Helen is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many friends.

Helen lived a very full life as a physician. She was an Emeritus member of the Arkansas Medical Society and received an honor for practicing medicine for over 50 years.

She owned a pediatric clinic in Benton for many years. After she and Bob decided to return to country life, she opened a thriving medical practice in Montgomery County where she served local long term care facilities and residents of the entire county. She often made emergency after hours home visits to rural residents of the county even late into the night with Bob driving her.

Helen loved to tell stories of her experience practicing medicine, especially her time serving residents of the Navajo Nation.

Helen and Bob retired to Bismarck for their remaining years to raise cattle, shop for antiques, grow flowers and enjoy their family, friends and neighbors. Helen grieved for her beloved husband when he passed in 2023 but had recently found her strength and returned to her joy of shopping, visiting friends and traveling.

The family would like to thank Delores Rutherford and Curtis and Rhonda Newland for their care and assistance.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 2, 2025 with a Funeral service immediately following at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs with John Herring officiating.
