Mary Felix Obituary
Mary Eliza Hutto Felix was born on April 26, 1936, in Laurel Hill, Florida. Mary is survived by her children Cynthia Burns (Terry), Ken Felix (Becky), and Carolyn Purcell (Doug); grandchildren Corey Felix (Sarah), Rachel Bristow (Jordan), Violet Purcell, Kevin Burns (Kellie), Brian Burns, and Alan Burns (Jennifer); and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond Hutto (Marci), and loving nieces and nephews around the country. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Adams Felix; parents George and Viola Hutto; and siblings Edith Comalander, Matthew Hutto, David Hutto, Ferlin Hutto, and Sandra Earls.
Mary was sustained by her faith in Jesus, which she shared with all those who knew her in her quiet and gentle way. Even as she struggled with dementia in her final months, her caregivers often mentioned her sweet spirit. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, in Hampton, VA. Burial will be at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk VA at a later date.
