Mary Yoder Obituary

Mary N. Yoder, age 82, of Lake Glenville, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024. She was born on March 18, 1941, in Poland, to the late Walter and Ksenia Nowiczewski.
Mary graduated from Freehold High School and the Overbrook Hospital School of Nursing, both in New Jersey. She spent her career as an O.R. nurse, working in geriatrics, and as a nursing assistant to an internist. She also volunteered at the Glenville Thrift Shore.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, David Richard; sons, David M., of Key Largo, Fla., Peter J. (Mary), of Black Mountain; sisters, Julie Elliot (Dino), Irene Taylor (Porter), brother, Joseph Nowiczewski; and grandchildren, Claire, Ellie, and James.
She will be missed.
The family received friends on Tuesday afternoon at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva, and a funeral service was held after. The Revs. Ralph Campbell and Jacob Tedder officiated.
