Alan Pressler, 89, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was born on October 6, 1934, in Springfield, MA. At a young age, his family moved to Bridgeport, CT, where he attended Madison School. He graduated from Central High School in 1956. He then attended college at the University of Miami. After college, he purchased a local sanitation company called R&R Sanitation, which he ran for several years. In 1972, he sold the business and purchased a liquor store in Fairfield called Rhonda's Package. In 1974, he sold the business and went into a partnership and purchased Your Bottle Shop in Milford, CT, which he managed successfully for 22 years before he retired. He became bored of retirement and, in 1996, he got a job as a Security Officer in Stamford, CT, where he worked for 22 years until he retired again in 2018. Alan was predeceased by his parents, Faye and Benjamin Pressler, sister, Dorothy Katz, nephew, Mark Katz, sister-in-law, Patricia K. Franz and brothers-in-law, James and Thomas Kennedy. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Eileen Kennedy Pressler, sons, Jeffrey Pressler (wife Maryam), David Pressler (wife Mary-Kate), and three grandchildren, Jacob, Kennedy and Juliana, who were the love of his life. He is also survived by his nephews, Chuck Katz, Kenneth Franz, and niece, Michele Kennedy. Alan will be missed dearly and remembered for his corny jokes, terrible sense of timing, but most of all the love he had for his family. Honoring Alan's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be a private graveside ceremony for immediate family only.
