Albert Fournier Obituary

Albert F. Fournier
Albert Frank Fournier, 93, of Milford, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2018 at the Veteran's Medical Center. Albert, affectionately known as "Al", was born May 24, 1925 in Lewiston, Maine, however, was a lifelong resident of Milford, Connecticut. Al served in the United States Naval Armed Forces during World War II. Furthermore, he worked for many years at Bridgeport Machines. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Guilman Fournier. They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. He will be remembered by his children, Gayle Cianciolo and husband, Anthony, of Milford, Steve Fournier and wife, Debra, also of Milford, and Debbie Thomas and husband, Simon, of Washington State. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Staci (Fournier) Rosen and husband, David, Sean Fournier and wife, Kimberly, Anthony Cianciolo, Caitlyn Cianciolo Siconolfi and husband, Anthony, Corynn Cianciolo, Rachel and Sarah Thomas and four great grandchildren: Jakob and Hailey Rosen and Reid and Connor Fournier.
Al was a kind and gentle man that was soft spoken and always made everyone he talked to feel welcome. He possessed a sense of humor and a broad smile that brought joy to those that knew him. He enjoyed being outdoors – enjoying his gardens that were all meticulously manicured and full of flowers. He sang to his grandchildren and great grandchildren while playing the guitar, yodeling and playing harmonica all at the same time. Some of their favorites were, "You are my Sunshine" and "What are Little Girls and Boys Made Of". These are memories they still cherish to this day. Al also had the ability to throw his voice to other parts of a room and his grandchildren and great grandchildren would laugh and giggle for hours. Al was an avid Red Sox and UConn fan and it seemed that the only time he raised his voice was when he passionately disagreed with a manager's decision or a referee or umpire's call. While Al has left us in body, his spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Haven, Ct. for their care and commitment to our father during his difficult time.
A memorial Service will be scheduled and announced in the very near future.
