Albert Kaff Obituary

KAFF Albert E. Kaff, age 91 of Fairfield, the beloved husband for over fifty years of Diana Kaff, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Born in Atchison, KS to the late John and Ethel May Kaff, he was a resident of Fairfield for over twenty years. Albert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Korea who attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kaff was a Foreign Correspondent and Vice-President for United Press International. Albert was a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder and also a member of the Foreign Correspondence Clubs in Taipei, Tokyo and Hong Kong as well as the Overseas Press Club of America in New York. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving sons, Arthur Kaff and his wife, Cheryl, of Bel Air, MD and Alban Kaff and his wife, Anika, of Brooklyn, NY. He will also be missed by four grandchildren, Rebecca, Nicole, Jason and Alexia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Worley and Mary Belle Kaff. Funeral services are private and under the direction of the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center. Al Kaff was not only a fine journnalist with a distinguished career, he was a gentleman of the first order. He was a man who was much admired by hundreds of journalists around the world. This is to pass on condolences to Diana and his family.
