Alfred (Al) J. Kelly
Alfred (Al) J. Kelly, age 64 of Fairfield, beloved husband of Donna Moyher Kelly, passed away suddenly Monday, August 11, 2025. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Robert & Mary (Jolson) Kelly, he was a lifelong Fairfield resident. Al graduated from Fairfield College Preparatory Scholl, class of 1979 and the Bridgeport Engineering Institute, class of 1989. He worked as a licensed Master Electrician for many years at various local companies including the Jeliff Corporation, Augustine and Maklari. He later transitioned to Electrical Engineering and was most recently employed by Nead Electric in East Rutherford, NJ.
Al loved to keep busy and volunteered his talents on the Burr and McKinley Elementary School l Building Committees. He was dedicated to scouting and was a Cub Scout leader for Pack 92 and 94. He also was a Boy Scout leader and volunteer for Troop 82 and always enjoyed mentoring and assisting the scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout and sat on the Eagle Scout Board of Review. He was an active member of North Park Baptist Church where he led Adult Bible Study.
Al's greatest joy was working hard to provide for his family whom he loved dearly. In addition to his loving wife Donna, he is survived by two beloved sons, Sean Patrick Kelly, Cpl, USMC, deployed in Okinawa, Japan and Alfred James Jolson Kelly of Fairfield; two brothers, R. Martin Kelly and his wife Linda of Fairfield and John Kelly and his wife Patrice of Holland, PA; a stepmother, Irena (Renke) D. Valles; sister–in-law Maureen Kelly; brother-in-law Michael Moran; stepsister Adrienne Fayette and her husband Steve and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Patrick Kelly and sister Katie Kelly Moran.
Friends may greet the family Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A service celebrating Al's life will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at North Park Baptist Church, 5200 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation in Al's memory to the America Heart Association (www.heart.org)
