Alice Lindstrom Obituary

LINDSTROM Alice L. Lindstrom, age 75, a longtime Fairfield, CT and Venice, FL resident, the beloved wife of Richard E. Lindstrom, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2010 in Venice, FL. Born in Englewood, NJ, Alice was a graduate of Green Mountain College. She re-lished the opportunity to travel the world as an International Stewardess for TWA and accompany her husband on his foreign business trips before settling down to her true love of caring for the family. She was a longtime member of The Patterson Club of Fairfield and Jacaranda West Country Club of Venice. Alice was an avid golfer and also loved to play bridge at both clubs. Alice was well known for being an outstanding hostess to neighbors, friends, family and her husband's international visitors, whether at home, camping, on their boat or anywhere or anytime that called for an occasion. Alice jumped at any chance to help a friend and will be remembered for her warmth, genuine friendship, and unwillingness to say a bad word about anyone. In addition to her husband of 47 years, she is survived by her loving family: son, Rick and his wife, Julie of San Francisco, CA; two devoted daughters, Karen Upton of Hopkinton, MA and Donna Donnelly and her husband, Mark, of Fairfield; and her cherished grandchild, Ryan Donnelly; her sister, Judy Cleary of Knoxville, TN; her nephews, Andy, Bruce and David VanCleve and her niece, Kay Grissom. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends who will never be able to fit everything into a description of their relationship with this very special woman. Friends are invited to greet her family on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. All other services are private. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association of CT, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108-3272. To send an online condolence, please visit www.shaughnesseybanks.com

I have not been in touch with many of my classmates but when familiar names appear it sends me back to the class of '52. It is sad to lose a friend or a spouse but despite the long interval I wish to send my prayers to your family
