So sorry about Aunt Alice's passing. She will be sadly missed. Will never forget going up to her loft apartment on Lenox Ave. and looking at all her pictures. She was the most kind and thoughtful lady. I will treasure the fond memories.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Aunt Alice. Although I had not seen her in many years I thought of her often. "Angel Love" was the perfect name for her.

My condolences go out to Alice's family and friends. She lived a good long life. I remember her with her big smile and friendly words and her jet black hair. She shared the same birthday as my grandfather, Sam Bowns. The Martins would always be included in our family birthday celebrations on Lenox Avenue. When I worked at GE on Boston Avenue in the 80's I would occasionally run into Alice during lunch hour. She never seemed to change. Always a big Hello and a big smile. She will be missed.

It is with my saddest regrets that I offer my words of condolence.
I had the pleasure of meeting Aunt Alice nine or so years ago, when her nephew, Joseph L. Martin Jr.,introduced us. She was a kind and gentle woman, with a very generous heart.
As the years went by and her health started to decline, my husband Joe Martin and I kept in touch by telephone and then when that was not possible, in writing.
I grew to know and love Aunt Alice's 'Angel Love' and I am so saddened by her passing. Thoughts of Alice Martin will be with me always. May her soul rest in peace.

Growing up on Lenox Avenue, Alice was like part of our family. She visited my grandparents all the time, in fact she and my grandfather both celebrated their birthday on September 5th. She went to school with my dad, George (Whitey) Bowns. She always remembered my birthday and always had a kind word for everyone. If there was some family celebration going on, the Martin's were included. When my mom, Melda, would go north, she always tried to keep in touch with Alice. I have thought of her fondly over the years and wondered how she was doing. My condolences go out to her family, she led a good life and may she rest in peace.
