Alison E. Steferak
Alison E. Steferak, age 24, of Fairfield, passed away suddenly Saturday, December 16, 2017 in Memphis, TN. Born in Bridgeport, Alison had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall and received her B.A. Degree in Political Science from Stonehill College. While in college Alison studied abroad in Ireland, Russia and Armenia, and was fluent in French and was conversational in Russian. Alison was currently teaching 9th grade Biology at MLK College Prep High School for Teach for America in Memphis, and also had worked as an intern at CivilNet T.V. in Armenia. Alison loved nature and was dedicated to many social causes as well as the environment. She will be sadly missed by her parents, Lisa Manente Fabrizi of Fairfield and Thomas Steferak and his wife Bonnie of Palm Springs, CA; her adoring younger sister, Gabriella Fabrizi of Fairfield; her devoted grandmother, Elizabeth Manente Power of Fairfield; her special uncle, Jeff Manente and his wife Nicole of Fairfield; her dear cousin, Michael Manente of Fairfield, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Robert E. Power. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MLK College Prep High School, 1530 Dellwood Avenue, Memphis, TN 38127, or Teach for America Tennessee, 1350 Concourse Avenue, Suite 437, Memphis, TN 38104. Ms.steferak me and you were so Close as teacher and student,we used to always hang out after school together,it'll be just me and you.Sometimes will talk about what we will do a couple years from now,you told me that you were gonna teach a couple years and then you wanted to become a professor.You wanted me to go to your college,you even wanted to write a recommadaton for me to your college.You always told me "if you keep doing what you are doing your life is gonna be great,You gonna be someone".You believed in me you wanted me to become something great.You were there for me all the time when I needed help with some work.I remember one time after school,we were inside your classroom,you were smiling at your phone,I said "what are you smiling at ms.steferak",you sayed "am smiling at how many likes I got on my picture",you were so happy that day when you hit all those on just a selfie.I have so many other memories of me and you,but we were so Close ms.steferak.I knew you so well.Ms.steferak I see how you can love and care for someone in just a short amount of time. Ms.steferak i want be able to attend your funeral,even though i wanted to,because it's in Connecticut but I will be at anything else they decide to have in memphis.And ms.steferak I always thought I would meet your family someday with you,I dont know if I ever will now.Man it hurts a lot that you want be at school anymore,I dont know what am gonna do without you there now.I don't think you knew this but you are the only teacher I could connect with.Rest well and in peace.I will always miss and remember you.
