Anastasios Stamelos Obituary

STAMELOS Anastasios Stamelos, age 64, of Guilford, devoted husband of Vivian Aslanis Stamelos, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, in Yale-New Haven Hospital, after a long-term battle with leukemia. Born in Limni, Greece, he was the son of the late Sotirios and Eleni Stamelos. Coming to the United States in 1966, Anastasios worked as a mechanic for Chevron Oil for 25 years, and also had been a proprietor of various ice cream trucks, as well as the owner of Boss Pizza of Guilford for the last 20 years. Survivors in addition to his devoted wife, Vivian, include two sons, Sotirios and Chrysovalantis Stamelos; a daughter, Helen Stamelos; two sisters, Angela Markos of Bridgeport, and Maria Matsoukas of Greece; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Parskevas Stamelos. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, with the Rev. Demetrios Recachinas, officiating. Interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Calling hours one hour prior to funeral services in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street (on the Trumbull Line) is in charge of arrangements.

I am the fiancee of sotirios stamelos. Anastasios was a very special man he will be deeply missed the family would like everyone to know how much we appreciate their love and support at this time.
