Anna Takacs Obituary
Anna V. Takacs, age 82, of Fairfield, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Anna was born in San Michele, Italy, the daughter of the late Maria and Francesco Venezia.
Anna, affectionately known as Nina, was above all else, devoted to her family. She spent her life making sure everyone was well-fed and cared for. From humble beginnings, Anna and Andy built a life together through hard work and sacrifice. Their marriage of over 60 years created a legacy of love and generosity. Anna was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Anna is survived by her son, Joseph Takacs and his wife Susanna; her grandchildren, Gabriella and her wife Liz Robinson, Jason, Jake and Alexa Takacs and Gabriella, Isabella and Armando Kurus. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her best friends of 68 years, Gwen and Joe Palmer of Fairfield as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew J. Takacs; her children, Frank and Dawn Takacs; siblings, Michael Venezia and Carmela Burdo; and her nephew, Alexander Burdo.
Friends may greet her family on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Entombment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
