Anthony DelVecchio Obituary

DelVECCHIO Anthony A. DelVecchio, age 92, beloved husband of Lucy Altieri DelVecchio, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at St. Vincent1s Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport, he had been a Fairfield resident for 45 years. Mr. DelVecchio attended NYU and was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport. He was employed at Miller Stevenson Chemical Co. in Danbury until his retirement. He was a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club and lead singer for the Hickory Mountaineers Band. In addition to Lucy, his wife of 64 years, he is survived by two sons, Frank A. DelVecchio and his wife, Judy D., of Monroe and Gary P. DelVecchio and his wife, Jennifer, of Fairfield; two sisters, Laura DelVecchio Bartult of Bridgeport and Elsie DelVecchio Ligouri of Trumbull; four grandchildren, Christine T., Kelly D., Jessica L. and Patrick A. DelVecchio; and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. DelVecchio1s memory to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, CT 06825.
