Barbara Toth Mester

MESTER Barbara Toth Mester, age 73, of Fairfield, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 5, 2006 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with her family at her side. Born in Bridgeport, November 27, 1932, to the late Louis and Jennie Mikhazi Toth, she had been a Fairfield Town resident all of her life. She had retired from St. Vincent's Hospital as a RN Maternity nurse, also as a head nurse of seven years. Barbara enjoyed retirement in their second home in Vermont where she spent most of her time until her illness. She enjoyed reading, as well as, cooking and baking for her family. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. In addition to Charles, her devoted husband of 44 years, she is survived by her sons, Michael Mester and his wife, Lisa,, of Georgia and Mark Mester and his wife Margaret, of Monroe; five precious grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole, Kyle and Coleen Mester of Georgia and Elise Mester of Monroe. Barbara is survived by her loving aunt, Helen Besket of Stratford; a sister, Maryanne Linane and her husband, James, of Stratford; three brothers, Stephen, William and Thomas Toth; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Alexander Miski, all of Fairfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and a great-niece. She was predeceased by one aunt, Bessie Mikhazi; and a brother, Robert Toth; a sister, Jacqueline Moylan; and her loving uncle, John Besket. Barbara will be missed greatly by her family, whose prayers and love will be with her. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:45 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center and at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield with burial to follow in Mt.
