Charles Bushnell Obituary

BUSHNELL Charles S. Bushnell III, age 69 of Milford, CT, cherished father and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 after a very brave battle against liver cancer. Charles, or Chet to all that knew and loved him, is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Davey, Karyn Nordstrom and Amy Love. He is also survived by his wonderful mother, Evelyn Bushnell and two sisters, Susan Hinde and Sally Tate. Chet was also the most amazing grandfather to Dylan, Emma and Nate Nordstrom and John and Charles Love. Chet was born in Rochester, NY and graduated from Penfield High School where he was Captain of the soccer, basketball and baseball teams as well as Class President. He was also a proud graduate of Bucknell University where he met his wife, Janet, his soulmate and partner for 45 years until she passed away in 2010. After Bucknell, Chet received his Master's Degree at American University in Communications. He then went on to enjoy a successful 20 year career at Exxon Corporation as their Director of Public Relations. He worked for Seaman's and Sleepy's afterward in various sales and management roles. Given his love for basketball, Chet was the "voice" of the Harding High School Presidents basketball team as the announcer of all their games for decades. Chet enjoyed traveling with his family, time in Rhode Island and Knicks games with his friends. He was a truly special individual and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Family and friends may call on Monday, February 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Anne Marie Meyerhoffer of the United Presbyterian Church officiating, at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. Interment to follow at King's Highway Cemetery, Milford. Memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice Inc. 2 Trap Falls Shelton, CT 06484. www.codywhitefuneralservice.com
