Christopher Thomas Carr passed away unexpectedly at his home in Fairfield, CT on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Born November 27, 1955 in Bridgeport, CT, Chris was a lifelong resident of Fairfield. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Lou Carr; and sister Kathleen DeBlois. He attended Holy Family School and graduated Andrew Warde High School in 1973. In their grief, his family can neither confirm nor deny his claim that he still holds the 4x100 relay record at Warde. His friends from Warde remained his best friends throughout his life and he treasured their friendship. After high school, Chris attended Villanova University where his love affair with Villanova Wildcat basketball began. Chris was a loud and proud member of Nova Nation and never missed a chance to let friends, family and the occasional stranger know about it. He was the captain of the Villanova soccer team and fondly recalled being drafted into the nascent Professional Indoor Soccer League post graduation. While proud of his athletic achievements, Chris' foray into pro sports was brief as he turned his attention to his career as a Certified Public Accountant. Hardworking and ambitious, Chris' career was long, varied and successful. While he was very proud of his professional accomplishments, his real passion was his family. He never missed a game, parent/teacher conference or an opportunity to tell his kids how much he loved them. He leaves behind a family heartbroken to have him pass too soon. Children, Jonathan (Izabela) Carr, Taylor (Patrick) Healy, Peter Carr, and Glenn Carr. He also leaves behind Hilary Carr and his brother, William; as well as his partner, Maureen Kosbob; his grandson, Henry, son of Taylor and Patrick, who he loved so very much. Chris will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews as well as his many friends. Chris was a man of deep faith. A Eucharistic Minister and active member of St. Anthony's Parish in Fairfield, he embodied the Christian ideals of charity and community. He never hesitated to help those around him and his children will greatly miss the love and support he provided. In recent years, Chris could be found bowling with the Clams, golfing with his friends at Smith Richardson and cheering on the Yankees at Tony Ds. His family would be remiss not to mention that Chris went out a Champion. In the last few months, Chris won both the Nutmeg Bowling Wednesday Night League and the Joan Joyce Golf Tournament in Stratford, CT (for the second year in a row!) Chris Carr's life was full and he impacted so many people over the years. We should all be so lucky. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 S. Pine Creek Road, Fairfield.
