I was deeply saddened to learn of Chris's passing.
In the 1980's I was editor of the Fanny Bay flyer in which Chris wrote a column about birds. I typed it up and was therefore one of the first to read his monthly story. When I had a question about a bird I saw or heard I would email Chris a picture and he would have an answer. He seemed to know everything about every bird.
My condolences to his family

On behalf of the Comox Valley Regional District I would like to offer condolences to Retired Chief Cook's family and friends. I had the privilege of working with Chris in his role as Fanny Bay Fire Chief. He was dedicated to the department and his community. He will be missed by all who knew him.
