Claire J. Carroll, age 100, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022. Claire was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT and spent most of her life in Stratford with her family. She met and married Edward S. Carroll in 1950, who was a Building Inspector Official in the City of Stratford for 32 years. Claire was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had a beautiful and long, fulfilling life, loved opera, butterflies, UCONN Women's Basketball, NY Broadway shows, margaritas, and Mexican food. Claire volunteered for many years as a docent at the Homestead and school program at Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Joan C. Fingon, husband, Michael Trivich of Ventura California; Rita Carroll daughter-in-law of Bedford, New Hampshire; and five grandchildren, Shallon F. Cimelus, husband, Matt Cimelus of Southbury, Collin R. Fingon and wife, Jackie Fingon of Rutland Town Vermont, Sean Carroll of Sacramento, California, David Carroll of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Colleen Carroll Reddington, husband, Will Reddington from Goffstown, New Hampshire. She has six great-grandchildren, Robert and Nathan Cimelus, Asa, Aurelia, and Monico Fingon, and Molly Reddington. Claire outlived her husband, Edward; son, Don Carroll; son-in-law, Robert Fingon; and all her brothers and sisters. We are grateful to her caregivers at The Motif and River Glenn of Southbury. Family and friends are welcome to attend the celebration of her life at Adzima Funeral Home on November 4th from 10am to 11am, followed by a church service at 11:30am at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Stratford.
