Clara Frillici Obituary

Clara Frillici
Clara Ozzi Frillici, age 96, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Fernando V. Frillici, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family in the comfort of her home. Born in Bridgeport on June 3, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (DiPaolo) Ozzi and was a longtime resident of Fairfield.
A graduate of Bassick High School, she earned a nursing degree from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in 1951. Claire served as a neurosurgical nurse, a staff nurse, and team leader at St. Vincent's Hospital for over 40 years. Claire had a deep love of nursing, and her dedication was acknowledged with an award from Sacred Heart University on the 70th anniversary of her graduation.
After her retirement at the age of 62, she led the parish nurse program at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. As a devout Catholic and active parishioner, she attended bible study classes, Sisters in Faith, and volunteered yearly at September Fest.
Claire's greatest joy in life was her children and their families. Her devotion created deep bonds with each and every one. Her love language was food as evidenced by countless family gatherings around her table. She is survived by her five loving children, Tom Frillici and his wife Pat, Teresa Elia and her husband Glenn, Paul Frillici and his wife Kari, Lisa Friedrichs and her husband Michael, Mark Frillici and his wife Jane, 15 loving grandchildren, Jarrit (Pegah), Lauren (Joe), Matthew (Perrin), Gregory (Madeleine), Meredith (Craig), Julia, Will, Lucas, Julian, Michael, Ben, Peter, Kyle, Megan, Olivia; 8 great-grandchildren, with one more eagerly anticipated. Survived also by a brother, Arthur Ozzi, Jr and his wife Lori, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Fred Frillici Jr., her grandson, Tyler Frillici, and her three sisters, Rose Paternoster, Gloria DeVietro and Lucy Quinto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Claire was a remarkable person, an outstanding Nurse and the oldest and most loyal member of the St Vincent´s Retirees group. Claire was a mentor to so many nurses during her 40 yrs at St Vincents and maintained her nurse friends old and new, right to the end, all while raising 6 children with the love of her life Fred Frillici.
